Foreign Minister Commends Sudan-UK Positive Developments

Minister for Foreign Relations, Professor Ibrahim Ghandour on Monday commended the positive developments in relations between the Sudan and UK in the various fields.
The Minister who received a delegation of British Lords currently on visit to the Sudan, expressed hope the coming round of strategic talks between the two nations would kick off in Khartoum in two weeks’ time. He commended the experience that, he said, has contributed immensely in brining closer the two sides’ views and set the roadmap for developing further their relations.
The Minister, Ghandour, presented a thorough briefing to the visiting delegation on the internal political developments in the Sudan and how the implementation of the National Dialogue, an all-inclusive process, recommendations is underway.
The Minister also dwelt on the security and peace situation in Darfur and in the Blue Nile and South Kordufan states, referring to the recent decision by the president of the Republic, Omar Bashir, to extend up to next June, the ceasefire in those areas, to allow for the peace process continue.
The Minister underlined that the government of the Sudan continues to hold to the strategic principles of dialogue and resolution of all problems via discussion and peaceful talks.
