Workshop on Evaluation of Sudan’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Held
January/15 | am:10:17 / No Comments 252 viewsThe Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Omer Sulieman Adam, said that Sudan obtains a rich heritage , especially its tangible cultural heritage, calling on a number of trainees to benefit from foreign and national experts to identify the elements of the unique cultural heritage to be registered in UNESCO World Heritage.
The minister was addressing the Workshop on Evaluation of tangible cultural heritage of Sudan) taking place at Kanon Hotel in Khartoum during January 13 -17; in presence of Dr. Asaad Abdelrahman, the Secretary General of the National Council for Cultural Heritage and Promotion of National Languages, the ambassadors of the United Arab Emirates (UEA), Malaysia and Morocco, Dr. Pavel Kroupkine, the UNESCO representative to Sudan and Dr. Abdulgadir Mohamed Hassan, the Secretary General of Sudanese National Commission for Education, Science and Culture.
The Minister thanked UNESCO and relevant organizations for their interest in the Sudanese heritage, affirming the keenness to holding more workshops and training sessions to qualify the national cadres toward preserving the Sudan’s unique cultural heritage.
Dr. Pavel Kroupkine, the UNESCO representative to Sudan, affirmed the support to the National Council and the training of national cadres in order to be experts in the future at the Arab World level.
