Al-Bashir Gives Directives for strengthening relations with Saudi Arabia
December/19 | pm:12:39 / No Comments 179 viewsPresident of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has given directives for strengthening and reactivation of all cooperation channels with Saudi Arabia and widening the participations in different fields, particularly in training sessions and joint work via the major projects and military exercises between the armed forces of the two countries.
During his meeting yestrday( Tuesday) at the Guest House with the visiting Saudi Chief of Staff, Gen. Pilot, Fayad bin Hammed, in presence of the Defense Minister, Lt. Gen. Awad Ibn Auf, President Al-Bashir affirmed that the security of the Land of the Two Holy Mosques is a red line, describing Sudan’s role in this connection as a sacred and moral duty.
He stressed that Sudan is committed to remain in the coalition in accordance with the agreement between the two countries.
The Chairman of the Chiefs of joint Staff, Lt. Gen., Kamal Abdul-Maarouf, in a press statement described the Sudanese – Saudi relations as historical and deeply-rooted, indicating that the visit of the Saudi high level military official to Sudan coincides the complicated circumstances in the Red Sea.
He explained that the visit also comes in the context of the continuous exchanged visits between the officials in the two countries, indicating that the Sudanese troops participating the coalition are playing a major role which was appreciated by Saudi Arabia.
