Ambassador Shawer Describes China – Africa Cooperation Forum as Successful
September/10 | pm:12:12 / No Comments 212 viewsSudan Ambassador to China, Ahmed Mahjoub Shawer, has described as successful the Third China – Africa Cooperation Summit Forum, which was concluded in Beijing on September 4 with participation of more than 50 African leaders.
He said that the forum has discussed the cooperation between China and the African countries in the economic, political, social and other fields in the framework of the win – win gain.
Ambassador Shawer said that the participation of the President of the Republic and the accompanying delegation in the summit forum has realized several positive results.
He referred to the meetings between the President Al-Bashir and the Chinese leadership which has underscored the importance of pressing ahead in the cooperation at the international level and the mutual support at the international forums.
He said that the Sudanese and Chinese sides have assured their commitment to the strategic partnership agreement signed by them. Adding that the two leaders have affirmed the importance of promoting the cooperation between the two countries toward increasing the exchange between them in the economic and trade fields.
He pointed out that China has offered a grant of 400 million yuan for implementing agreed upon projects, in addition to another profit-free donation of 200 million yuan.
The ambassador has pointed to the various meetings held between the ministers accompanying to President Al-Bashir and officials of Chinese companies and bodies operating in the fields of investment, infrastructures, transport, oil, industrial, water resources and electricity power toward pushing ahead the cooperation between Sudan and China.
Ambassador Shawer stated that the visit of President Al-Bashir to China has realized an outstanding breakthrough in the economic file, especially with regard to the signing of an agreement between the China National Petroleum Company (CNPC) and the Sudanese Ministry of Petroleum, a matter which was regarded as a qualitative progress in the economic relations between the two countries in the coming period.
