National Prime Minister Mutaz Musa has held a meeting with the executive office of the Sudan Workers Trade Unions Federation (SWTUF), in the presence of State Minister at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning and discussed the budget of the government for 2019 and the issue of wages and salaries increases.
SWTUF Chairman Engineer Yousuf Abdul-Karim said in a press statement that agreement has been reached on wage increases ranging between SDG500 to the lowest grade in the wages and salaries structure to increase gradually to reach SDG2500 to Group 1, adding that the pensioners would also receive an increase of SDG500.
Abdel-Karim referred to the social role assumed by SWTUF in reducing the cost of living through markets for sales at reduced prices in all states of Sudan, pointing to the experience of the federation on the fund for workers food.
The SWTUF would work through the Workers Microfinance Company for providing productive projects for all workers for generating additional incomes, he added.
