Foreign Ministry: Year 2019 will be one for Cementing Relations with African Countries
December/31 | am:10:25 / No Comments 136 viewsThe Foreign Minister, Dr. Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed, pointed out that Sudan’s diplomacy will give more attention to the relations with African countries in the new year, with emphasis on completing the peace of South Sudan State and supporting the peace efforts in the Central African Republic and Libya.
The minister said that he will participate during January 8 and 9, 2019 in a meeting of the foreign ministers of the countries of “SIMAK” – the Central African Union – the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and Commissioner of Peace and Security of the African Union to discuss support for peace efforts in the Central African Republic.
He revealed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working with the concerned authorities on a project to inform about Sudan’s contribution to African history and civilization and to re-present its true face.
He said that the best diplomatic cadres will be assigned to work in the African countries, especially the neighboring countries.
Dr. Al-Dirdiri stated that the new year will witness the opening of the Faculty of Diplomacy and Governance Studies at the University of Khartoum, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to qualify cadres of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other sovereign ministries, indicating that the project also aims to contribute to the qualification of diplomatic and administrative cadres in neighboring countries.
The minister said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will play its role in achieving the new budget targets, which followed a new method based on programs and projects.
