President Al-Bashir and AU Implementation Panel Discuss Peace Process
February/11 | am:9:49 / No Comments 141 viewsPresident of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, met in Addis Ababa, on the sidelines of the 32nd Ordinary African Summit with the Chairman of the African Union’s High-Level Implementation Panel, Thabo Mbeki, in presence of the supreme representative of the African Union’s Chairman for Gun Silencing, Ramadan Lamamra, and discussed in length the panel’s moves for the coming period for boosting peace in Sudan.
In a press statement, Sudan Ambassador to Ethiopia, Dr. Al-Saddiq Bakhit, said that the meeting has discussed the situation and the coming plan of the High-Level Implementation Panel in cooperation with the other African Union’s bodies.
He referred to the idea of integration between the Horn of Africa countries in response to the new spirit that prevailed the Horn of Africa Region after advent of the Ethiopian Prime Minister and the reconciliations that took place in all countries at the region.
He said that there is a serious move to transform these reconciliations and new spirit into an integrated action for the benefit of the peoples of the region.
