Russia to Remove Ban on Sudanese Vegetable and Fruits Exports

Khartoum – Russia has officially announced the resumption of importation of Sudanese vegetables and fruits as of 20 March 2017, Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance revealed in a press release.
The press release reads that the imports include onion, soybeans, pepper, mango, bananas, watermelon, melon, lime, grapefruits, etc..
The Russian Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Authority said that the decision was taken after consultations with concerned Sudanese authorities at the ministry of agriculture.
Earlier last June, Russia banned vegetables and fruits imports from many African countries including Sudan.
Russia banned imports of vegetables and fruits from as many African countries as Cote d’ivoire, Nigeria, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic and Mali, until necessary information was received from those countries.
