The State Minister at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Nahar Othman Nahar has discussed with the delegation of the World Green Environment Institute the accession of Sudan to the institute. This came during a meeting at his office  with the delegation of the Institute headed by the Secretary-General of the Council for Environment and Natural Resources Dr. Nour-al-Din Ahmed Abdullah, in the presence of the Director of the Institute in Africa and Europe Dot Dix and the Director of the Institute in the UAE. Nahar praised the role of the Environment Council and the international institutions related to the agricultural sector, stressing, in a press statement, his ministry’s commitment to the proposal of Sudan’s accession to the World Green Environment Institute for possible gains that ensure the preservation of the environment, environmental balance and the rights of future generations. He renewed the readiness of his ministry to provide support and push the agenda and steps to ensure the accession of Sudan. “Sudan’s accession to the Global Green Environment Institute helps build Sudan’s capacity for global support, as well as laying down the concept of green development,” said Dr. Nour-al-Din Ahmed Abdullah, adding that the institute includes 30 countries working with the Development and Green Climate Fund. He explained that climate programs need support, and the Institute is studying the green development strategy by focusing on the agricultural sector.
