Supreme Peace Council Achieves Agreement on Agenda for Coming Session of Negotiations
February/03 | am:9:11 / No Comments 154 viewsMember of the Transitional Sovereign Council and spokesman of the government delegation for the negotiations in Juba, Mohamed Hassan Al-Taayeshi, has announced completion of the consultations between government parties, the partners from the political forces and the civil society organizations on the negotiation agenda for the next round with armed struggle movements in Juba, which will start on February 4.
He said in a press statement after a meeting of the Supreme Council of Peace, which was headed by the President of the Sovereignty Council, Lt. Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, that the meeting has agreed on all the agenda for the upcoming negotiations, stressing that all the transitional government organs and the partners of the political forces are sharing a united stance on the issues of negotiation.
Representatives of the Forces of Freedom and Change have taken part in the meeting.
Al-Taayeshi said that a comprehensive peace agreement would be signed in current February.
He added that the meeting achieved consensus on the controversial issues that appeared in the past negotiation session, especially the issues relating to governance and transitional justice.
